MATT HILL RETURNS TO RACE AND WIN IN CRATE MODELS
Three-time Crate Model champion, Matt Hill was back and in top form on Wednesday night winning is heat and starting on the pole in the 15-lap main. Robbie Walls, Jr. captured the second qualifier and started in second.
A pileup on the second lap brought out the yellow and involved the cars of Kevin White, Jamie Eichholz, Steven Baker, Geoff Carey and Mike Wharton. At the halfway point the top five were Hill, Walls, Jr., Sparky White, Tyler Reed and Charles Shawver. The final yellow was out at this point when Richard Harden came to a stop.
The final half of the race was all green. Walls, Jr. pulled to the back bumper of Hill with two to go but could not mount a challenge as Hill went on to the win. White, Reed and Shawver (who started in 15th) rounded out the top five. The race was sponsored by Herl’s Bath & Tile Solutions.
