ROBBIE WALLS, JR GETS FIRST WIN OF SEASON IN CRATES

Crate Model qualifying heats were won by 2015 Rookie of the Year, Charles Shawver and Robbie Walls, Jr. In the 15-lap main, Shawver took the point at the drop of the green with Mike Wilson solidly in second. The first of only two yellows flew on lap six when Steven Baker’s car’s front suspension gave way. On the restart, Walls, Jr. got by Wilson for second and was challenging Shawver for the lead at halfway.

 

Walls, Jr. made a smooth low side pass to take the green one lap later and would hold off Shawver the rest of the distance to collect his first checkered of the season. Sparky White challenged Shawver but had to settle for third with last week’s winner, Tyler Reed finishing fourth and Zac Weller rounding out the top five.
