NICK DAVIS AND THE BAT MOBILE GRAB FIRST WIN OF 2016

IMG_2608

In the Super Late Models it was a night that was expected to be a limited field, but rain cancelled out racing events at Virginia Motor Speedway, and racers headed north to fill the pits. Heat race wins to start the night were picked up by Ricky Elliott and Nick Davis, and that placed them second and third respectively.

Joe Warren started the night on the pole and led the field to the green. Elliott and Nick Davis were nipping on Warren’s heels as the green dropped and by the first turn Davis and Elliott had jumped around Warren with Elliott shooting into the lead. Elliott had already jumped out to a sizeable lead before making a full lap around the half mile, but as he came off the 4th turn, the motor on the 88 had fallen silent with debris coming out from under the Lazer chassis, bringing out the caution and putting Davis into the lead. On the restart Donald Lingo Jr. got around Warren for the second position and had his eyes set on Davis. The Delaware natives battled out the next 18 laps and put on a show for the fans. After losing an engine on Thursday night, Davis was able to get Lady Luck on his side and find victory lane.
