SPARKY WHITE TAKES CRATE MODEL OPENER
Heats for the Crate Models were won by rookie Wes Clifton and Sparky White. At the drop of the green Clifton took control and looked like a seasoned veteran early on. White would stay in striking distance and when Clifton bobbled on lap six, White moved on top.
Clifton’s hopes of two wins on his first night came to an end when he spun to bring out the yellow with two laps to go. Robbie Walls, Jr. was now second but had nothing for White on the restart. White drove to the win with Walls, Jr. second. Zac Weller crossed the finish in third but failed post-race tech inspection moving Mike Wilson to third. Fourth would go to Steven Baker with Jason Dean rounding out the top five.
