RICKY ELLIOTT RACES TO 3RD WIN IN 1ST 20-LAP LATE MODEL MAIN

Kerry King set the pace at the start of the first 20-lap Super Late Model feature. Joe Warren held second until lap three when Ricky Elliott, who started in sixth, took the spot. By halfway a great battle between King, Elliott and third place Donald Lingo, Jr. had developed.

King held off the challenge until lap 13 when he slipped high in the first turn opening the door for Elliott. Once out front Elliott was able to pull away from the field. The race would go caution free with Elliott taking his third win of the season. King would turn in his best performance of the year finishing in second. Lingo, Jr. slowed with mechanical problems late in the race with Davis filling his spot for third. Staci Warrington finished in the fourth spot and Joe Warren rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Lingo and Elliott.

“We’ve been experimenting trying to go faster but instead we’ve been going the other way, said Elliott. “Tonight we went back the notebook and an old setup and it worked. This is the same car were have been running.
