ANDREW MULLINS GETS 3RD WIN IN 2ND 20 LAP LATE MODEL FEATURE

The field was inverted for the second 20-lap Super Late Model feature. Bob Geiger elected to start scratch and Donald Lingo, Jr. was suffering from engine woes from the first feature starting at the rear and pulling in after taking the green. This put Andrew Mullins on the point and he would take full advantage of the situation.

The caution was out on the second lap when first feature winner, Elliott spun in the second turn. Elliott ducked into the pits under the yellow and returned to the field but after taking the green, slowed down the back straight and headed in. Staci Warrington worked by Joe Warren for second. At the halfway sign the top five were Mullins, Warrington, Warren, Nick Davis and Kerry King.

With four to go Davis worked by Warren bringing King with him. Two laps later King tangled with Geiger in the first turn to bring out the final yellow. Davis grabbed second on the restart but could not mount a challenge on Mullins posting his third win of the season.

“Three wins this season, laughed Mullins. “I don’t think I’ve ever won three wins period! Davis finished in second with Warrington, Warren and King rounding out the top five.
