BRANDON WATKINS EARNS 1ST CAREER WIN IN AC DELCO MAIN
In the 15-lap AC Delco PSC Modified feature it took four attempts to get the first lap in but when it did get in it was Westley Smith who started on the pole becoming the car to beat. Brandon Watkins stayed on Smith’s bumper with Chad Clark running in third. By the halfway point the lead trio had been joined by Joseph Tracy and Scott Hitchens in a five car break away.
Just as it looked like Smith would be headed to the win the caution flew for a fifth and final time for a three car tangle with one to go. Smith led going into the first turn on the final lap but it appeared that the car may have been running out of fuel as Smith pulled to the high side and started to slow. Watkins took full advantage and drove by to his first career win. Tracy got by Clark on the final circuit to finish in second with Hitchens fourth and Smith holding on to finish in fifth. Heats were won by Watkins, Clark and Kevin Sockriter.
