DONALD LINGO, JR. GETS 3RD WIN IN SUPER LATES

Donald Lingo Jr. started on the pole in the 20-lap Super Late Model feature but it would be far from a cake walk for the defending champion. David Hill applied the pressure from the drop of the green as two hetime winner this season, Austin Hubbard shot from sixth to third on the first lap. By lap four Hill was sticking the nose of his car under Lingo, Jr. who was riding in the high groove.

Hill edged out front to lead lap seven but Lingo, Jr. maintained the high groove and the challenge for the lead. Two laps later Lingo, Jr. regained the lead. At the halfway sign Hill got sideways in two and Hubbard took advantage of the slip to take second. Brandon Dennis was running solidly in fourth and Nick Davis in fifth.

The only caution of the race was a scary one on lap 17. Dennis tagged the wall with the rear of his car midway down the back straight. The car then nosed into the wall and began a series of rolls off the third turn. Dennis was shaken but not injured in the crash.

Lingo, Jr. held off Hubbard on the restart as Ricky Elliott got by Hill for third. Lingo, Jr. would hold on for his third win of the season. Hubbard finished two tenths back in second with Elliott third. Fourth went to Hill and Hill rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Elliott and Hubbard.
