GULLIVER EDGES HILL FOR 2ND CONSECUTIVE WIN IN MOD LITES

In the 15-lap Mod Lite feature, the field started heads-up from qualifying as the inversion draw was zero. Jimmy Wills was fast qualifier and started on the point but it was Ray Gulliver pulling out front to lead at the start.

While Gulliver established himself in the middle groove, Wills went to the top and James Hill to the bottom and the three car battle was on. Cautions kept the field tightly bunched and by halfway the top three were still under a blanket with Gulliver out front closely pursued by Hill and Wills, Landis Musser ran in the fourth spot and thirteen year old, Zac Weller had worked into fifth.

With five to go, Wills and Hill made contact with Hill doing a 360 degree spin and continuing but unfortunately Zac Weller also spun to avoid Hill and came to a stop, sending him to the rear while Hill was able to return to second because he did not stop.

Hill now seemed even more determined to get by Gulliver and coming off the final turn pulled even with the leader. Gulliver crossed the line ahead by a wheel to take his second straight win and the third of his career. The margin of victory over Hill was .017 seconds. Wills finished in the third spot with Musser and Brandon Dennis rounding out the top five.
