ELK MOONEYHAM MEMORIAL POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN
By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (6/11/11) – A great field of cars had just completed qualifying when the sky opened ending Saturday night’s Elk Mooneyham Memorial at the Delaware International Speedway. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday night, June 25th and will be run in it’s entirety with the exception that along with the five weekly division the night will also include the Vintage Cars, Little Lincoln Cars and the Slide for 5.
A season high 24 Super Late Models were in the pits with heats going to Austin Hubbard and Andrew Mullins. Big Block Modified heats were won by Joseph Watson and Dana Walker. Matt Hill set fast time in Crate Model qualifying. Joseph Tracy set fast time in AC Delco TSS Modified qualifying and James Hill set fast time in Mod Lite qualifying.
The Vintage cars had just taken to the track for their feature event when it started to rain. This Saturday night the URC Sprints will make their third appearance of the season along with the five weekly divisions. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m.
