BRANDON DENNIS EARNS WIN NUMBER FOUR IN MOD LITES

Brandon Dennis served notice that his is looking for a fourth consecutive point championship in the Mod Lite division as he posted his fourth win of the season Saturday night. The victory didn’t come easy however as he was “saved by a caution that prevented James Hill from taking the lead.

James Hill returned to action after a month’s absence and drove past Kerry King, Jr. to lead lap one of the 15-lap feature. Brandon Dennis shot from third to first on the next circuit. Erik McKinney climbed to the third spot but spun to bring out the yellow on lap seven. Hill put the pressure on Dennis on the restart as Alan Passwaters worked by King for third.

Hill made a nice move coming off the fourth turn to get by Dennis but the caution was out again before the lap was complete for McKinney. Hill had to restart in second and kept the pressure on Dennis. Dennis made no mistakes in the final two laps to post his fourth win of the season in the Simpson Construction/Pro Chassis. Hill made a triumphant return finishing in second with Passwaters third. Jason Musser came on strong in the closing laps to finish in fourth with Curt Miles, Jr. rounding out the top five. Fast time in qualifying was set by Dennis.
