JOSEPH TRACY GETS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON IN AC DELCO MODIFIEDS

Defending AC Delco TSS Modified Champion, Joseph Tracy took off last week to “regroup.� The plan worked perfectly as he dominated the 15-lap feature in his Middle Ground Produce/Virgil Davis Trucking/Dirt Wheels car.

 

It took three attempts to get the first lap in the books but it was Bryan Applegate leading his first feature lap before Tracy, who started in third, powered on top. Once out front, Tracy steadily pulled away from the field.

 

At the halfway sign the top five were Tracy, Applegate, Herman Powell, Scott Baker and John Curtis. The race would stay green until lap 11 when Herbie Hempel came to a stop. This erased Tracy’s big lead but back under the green he was once again able to pull away and take the win. Applegate posted a personal best in second. Herman Powell crossed the stripe in third but failed the post race shock absorber inspection. Third went to Baker with Curtis fourth and rookie Dwayne Crockett fifth Crockett also set fast time in qualifying.
