HUBBARD RETURNS HOME FOR FULTON BANK 50

AUSTIN HUBBARD RETURNS WITH WORLD OF OUTLAWS FOR THURSDAY NIGHT’S FULTON BANK 50

Delmar, DE (5/9/11) – The “Delaware Destroyer Austin Hubbard put on a real show on opening night when he battled for the lead during the second half of the race with Richard Jarvis, Jr. before settling for second at the checkered.

Hubbard returns to his home state this week and will get to sleep in his own bed in nearby Seaford, Del. as he prepares to compete in Thursday night’s Fulton Bank 50 at the Delaware International Speedway.

Coming off a two night weekend in Georgia, Hubbard is currently third in the point standings behind York, Pa.’s Rick Eckert and two-time point champion and last year’s race winner, Josh Richards of Shinnston, West Virginia. The 19 year old Hubbard was last year’s Rookie of the Year with the Outlaws and is in his second year behind the wheel of the Dale Beitlier Reliable Painting Rocket. He has started all nine events this season with the Outlaws and has three top fives, six top tens, and one fast time this year.

Jarvis, Jr., the man who beat Hubbard on opening night, is off to his own great start. The former track champion has two wins in three starts this season and is looking forward to Thursday night’s challenge. “It’s going to be an awesome race, Jarvis said after Saturday night’s win. “We are going to do everything we can to support our local Delaware crowd.
