Doughty Tops Schwebach At Labor Day Duel

The Adams Graphix WISSOTA Street Stocks were a part of the Labor Day Duel program at Deer Creek Speedway. It was the last appearance for the division for the 2018 race season. They were on the card with the USMTS Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods.
Fourteen cars started the 18-lap feature with Troy Voth and Bernie Adams leading the field to the green flag. Right off the bat, Zach Elward spun and collected two cars. Elward went to the tail for the incident.
Voth led on the restart and they were four wide for second behind him. Blake Adams broke into second with Nick Schwebach on his heels and Kory Adams was right behind them. Blake Adams and Schwebach wheeled side-by-side for second with Schwebach to the runner up spot.
Kory Adams, Travis Krause and Dustin Doughty went at it for fourth and were three abreast. Schwebach went after Voth for the lead on lap six and got it while Doughty moved to third. Doughty slipped to second on lap seven.
Doughty then challenged Schwebach for the lead on lap eight as Voth and Blake Adams were door-to-door for third. Zach Elward charged from the back and challenged for fifth at this point in the race.
The race up front was good when Schwebach wheeled past Doughty for the lead on lap 11. Doughty returned the favor on lap 12 and was back out front. Elward was on the fly and moved to fourth on lap 13.
Doughty fended off Schwebach one more time to take his second win of the season. Schwebach finished second with Blake Adams in third. Elward’s fine recovery ended in fourth while Kory Adams was fifth.
