For Immediate Release
(Warrensburg, Missouri) As previously announced in last week’s press release, Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) is continuously monitoring the current state of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Track owner Earl Walls stated, “Today I’ve been in contact with Pete Howey, General Manager of Lakeside Speedway in Kansas, regarding the 2020 race season. We both agreed we will take things on a week-by-week basis and monitor developing situations on the Corona Virus.”
Walls continued, “We intend to follow the guidelines of state, county, and local officials and if it is possible to open and run, we will. However, these suggestions will determine what we do as the safety and well-being of attendees is our number one priority. Like everyone in the racing community, we look forward to the start of the 2020 race season.”
Earlier in the week, Promoter Susan Walls commented on the COVID-19 situation regarding health and safety standards on the CMS grounds in anticipation of the season beginning. “CMS will continue its long-standing and strong relationship with Johnson County Community Health Services in Warrensburg regarding health and safety regulations, food preparation and sanitation, and COVID-19 specific guidelines.
