Night 2 of the USA Nationals

The BAR31 Team geared up for Night 2 of the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway. The evening started in a promising way. Kye rolled out for qualifying in group B and wound up with the 6th fastest lap, behind fast time Shannon Babb, Ricky Thornton, Jr., Kyle Strickler, Ahston Winger and Johnny Scott.

Kye was slated to start on the outside pole of Heat #6. As the cars rolled off of turn 3, Kye was called for a jump start, and put back one row. He eventually fell back to the 6th position, and that is where he took the checkered flag. (The top three finishers in the heat race locked into the feature race.)

This put the BAR31 Team entry starting 6th in the final B Main for the night; and they finished in the same position. Only the top two finishers transferred to the feature.

Kye stated, “We should have been able to rebound (after the jump start call). We will be better tomorrow.”

Tonight is the final night of the USA Nationals. The field for the 100-lap feature race will be set by a combination of points from the first two nights, and then B mains for the rest of the competitors. The top 16 in points are already locked into the feature. At the end of night 2, Kye and the BAR31 Team are 22nd in points. The team will dig in and do their best to get into the 100-lap feature.
