Can-Am Speedway "Showdown in September" Saturday Night

ST. LAWRENCE RADIOLOGY/O.D. GREENE LUMBER and FX CAPRARA HONDA/FX CAPRARA DODGE-JEEP-RAM-CHRYSLER OF ALEXANDRIA BAY PRESENTS SATURDAY PORTION OF “SHOWDOWN IN SEPTEMBER AT THE CAN-AM SPEEDWAY DIRTcar 358 MODIFIED SERIES, JOHN BURR MEMORIAL FOR DIRTcar SPORTSMAN, PRO STREET STOCKS AND DIRT MODIFIED NOSTALGIA TOUR

The final race of the 2019 season at the Can-Am Speedway, will take place this coming Saturday night, September 7th, when St. Lawrence Radiology and O.D. Greene Lumber present the 2nd night of “Showdown in September.

The DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, Pro Street Stocks and the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour will all be in competition making for an exciting night of dirt track racing to close out the season.  All the top DIRTcar 358 Modified competitors should be on hand for their DIRTcar Series event.  Ransomville NY’s Erick Rudolph currently leads the Series standings over Mile Mahaney, Mat Williamson, Dave Marcuccilli and Corey Wheeler.  Can-Am regular Jordan McCreadie sits 8th in the point standings and hopes to use his home track advantage to close the gap on the top 5.  Other local drivers in the top 12 in points that are expected to compete are Tim Fuller and Lance Willix, as well as many of the Can-Am regulars.

Racing recently lost a great friend and former Can-Am Speedway announcer, John Burr. In his memory, this Saturday nights DIRTcar Sportsman event will be the John Burr Memorial, 50 laps paying the winner $2500 and all starters will receive $200.  There is also over $4000 in lap money and special awards up for grabs.  This race is expected to draw a record number of DIRTcar Sportsman competitors.

The Pro Street Stocks always put on a great show for the fans and officials are looking forward to some outsiders making the tow to Lafargeville to challenge the Can-Am regulars.  The Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour will be making a weekend out of it at Can-Am, as they compete for the second night in a row

With 2 consecutive nights of racing, a large number of Vintage racers should be in attendance.  What better way to close out another successful season at Can-Am than with a DIRTcar 358 Series event, The John Burr Memorial DIRTcar Sportsman 50 lapper, Pro Street Stocks and the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour.  Look for daily updates on Facebook at Can-Am Speedway or call the Speedway at 315-876-3478.
