Cameron, Nelson, and Melton Highlight CRUSA at Camden Speedway

(Camden, TN – July 12, 2025) – A warm Saturday night of racing action brought a strong crowd to the Camden Speedway hosted a full slate of Crate Racin’ USA-sanctioned divisions on July 12. The 1/4-mile West Tennessee oval produced tight battles, mechanical heartbreaks, and dominant drives, setting the tone for the second half of the racing season.

Cameron Unstoppable in CRUSA Late Model Sportsman
Timmie Cameron of Columbia, TN made it a clean sweep in the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman class. After setting fast time in qualifying with a lap of 16.453, Cameron went on to win his heat and dominate the 15-lap feature from the pole position.

Justin Pugh of Milan, TN applied steady pressure throughout the main event but could not reel in the #18TC. Kevin Smith rounded out the podium in third, while Dakota Berry and Joel Russell completed the top five. Marty Allison, who started fourth, was an early contender before mechanical issues sidelined him with a DNF. Knox Lamberth was listed as a DNS in all events.

Street Stock Feature Sees Nelson Survive and Win
The CRUSA Street Stock race was packed with action and attrition. Dale Nelson of Milan, TN took advantage of front-row chaos to earn the win in a caution-filled 15-lap showdown.

Polesitter TJ Herndon looked poised to control the race after setting fast time and winning his heat, but his night ended early with a DNF. Hayden Cardwell, another front-row starter, also failed to finish. Nelson took control and held off hard-charging RJ Emison and Chris Shelton to grab the win. Marlin Cathey completed the running order in fourth among the finishers.

Melton Leads Every Lap in CRUSA Modifieds
In the CRUSA Modified division, it was all about execution and consistency—and Jarrett Melton delivered both. The Lexington, TN driver was quickest in qualifying, started on the pole, and never looked back during the 15-lap feature event.

Melton held off late pressure from Rex Berry, who gained two spots to finish second. Tyler Cox and Neil Thompson battled side-by-side early before settling into third and fourth, respectively. Rusty Mullins rounded out the top five.
