Noble Roots Transport Quick 8 Coming to Top Class in 2024
Bunker Hill, IN (February 29, 2024) The Bellman Oil Top competitors at Bunker Hill Dragstrip, will have an extra incentive to go fast this season, with the addition of the Noble Roots Transport Quick 8 taking place at select IHRA Summit Super Series bracket races. The winner of the quick eight will go home with $250. The runner up will earn $100 and $50 will be paid to each semi finalist. There will also be a fastest qualifier bonus of $50.
Noble Roots Transport, a trucking company out of Noblesville, IN is owned and operated by Bellman Oil Top competitor Todd Shelton. Todd and his father Gary, have been racing at Bunker Hill Dragstrip for 4 years. Todd’s belief in the future of the historic track inspired him to sponsor this exciting program.
“When we announced the Johnson Performance Quick 8 for the modified class last month, we were hoping to bring the same program to the Bellman Oil Top class” explains track owner Terry McMillen. “We can’t thank Todd and Noble Roots Transport enough for their support of the Quick 8 in Top. Great people are making great things happen at Bunker Hill Dragstrip and Noble Roots Transport is a perfect example of this.”
The schedule for the Noble Roots Transport Quick 8 will land on opposite weekends as the Johnson Performance Quick 8, but will follow a similar format with 1 event per month kicking off on June 1st, followed by July 27 and August 17 and will conclude on September 7.
The rules for the Quick Eight are as follows:
4 Door Cars and 4 Dragsters (in the event of less than 4 dragsters, more door cars will be eligible)
Must enter race in the Bellman Oil Top Class
No double entries
Fastest 4 door cars and fastest 4 dragsters from the Bellman Oil Top time trials will qualify
Quick 8 will be run at the end of the Bellman Oil Top Class
Winner of the Quick 8 falls back into round 4 of Top
First round losers have the option to buy back into regular Top class
Quick 8 will be put on a ladder
Quick 8 run as bracket race
Dial in can be quicker than qualifying but can NOT be more than 2 tenths slower than qualifying
Points racers competing in the Quick 8 will earn points as they normally would
