2024 Brewerton Season Opener Friday, May 3
BREWERTON, NY – (May 2, 2024) – Fifty-four cars took to the Brewerton Speedway on Wednesday, May 1 in preparation for Friday’s Oneida Lake Walleye Fest Season Opener, with racers from eight different classes taking advantage of the track time. Attention now shifts to the 2024 Season Opener this Friday, May 3.
A large weekly field of Tracey Road DIRTcar Modifieds will again headline the D-Shaped Dirt Demon led by 2023 Track Champion Tim Sears, Jr.. Multi-time track Champion Jimmy Phelps will look to reclaim the track title he last captured in 2021. Recent Kings of the Demon Chris Hile, Larry Wight and a host of others will look to get their 2024 season kicked off in style with a win on opening night.
A 358-Modified bonus will continue for 2024 with $300, $200, and $100 posted for the three highest finishing Small Blocks across the line in each modified main. A-to-Z Contracting will present $100 to each Modified heat winner.
Zach Sobotka returns to defend his Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman Championship. A solid blend of veterans and newcomers will look to dethrone Sobotka in 2024.
Last year’s AmeriCU Mod Lite King Kyle Demo and Mirabito 4-Cylinder Superstock Champion Chris Bonoffski will also return to defend their 2023 Championships.
Oneida Lake Walleye Fest and Derby will be the presenting sponsor of opening night. In a unique partnership, Brewerton’s opening night will preface the 45th edition of the spring fishing tradition on Oneida Lake
Joining the mighty Modifieds on the opening night card will be DOT Foods DIRTcar Sportsman, AmeriCU Credit Union Mod Lites, and the Mirabito Four Cylinder Super Stocks.
