Podium finish for Stormy with Iron-Man Series at Boyd's Speedway
Stormy Scott invaded Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Tuesday afternoon for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America tour opener. In a stout field of 49 Late Models, Stormy came in second-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. With recent rain showers and a new surface making for a rough track, Scott was one of several cars that retired early from the 50-lapper. (Josh James Artwork)
For the second round of the 13-race miniseries on Wednesday at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.), Scott edged his way into the A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat. With $22,022 on the line, Stormy faded three positions in the 50-lap affair to finish 12th.
Returning to action on Saturday, Stormy stopped at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series sanctioned contest. Earning the seventh-starting position for the $4,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Scott advanced forward four spots to finish third. He trailed Payton Freeman and Sam Seawright to the checkers.
