Saturday Night Racing at Airborne

PLATTSBURGH – The Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway will get back at it this Saturday night at 6 p.m. for VP Small Engine Fuel Night presented by Huntley Trucking.

The Egglefield Ford 358-Modifieds, Poirier’s True Value Sportsman, Hartson Total Opening Pro Stocks, Ernie’s Discount Tools Super Stocks, Chris Frennier Motorsports Strictly Stocks and Novice Sportsman will all be in competition for regular distance heats and feature races.

Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. this weekend. Admission prices are set at $12 for adults with kids ages 12 and under free of charge.

Mother Nature rained on the party last Saturday night, but the point battles remain tight. Lance Willix of Theresa, NY is the current point leader, four ahead of the defending champion, Steve Bernier. Dany Gagné, Jack Lehner and Mike Mahaney round out the top five in the 358-Modified standings.

East Corinth, VT driver, Adam Pierson has not collected a win, but has three top five finishes that have helped him gain a six point lead over 2017 Sportsman champion, Connor Cleveland. Travis Bruno, Patrick Picotin and Lonnie Rivers complete the current top five.

C.D. Beauchamp has a 12 point lead over Marc Lalonde in the Pro Stock division. Joceyn Roy, Roch Aubin and Stephane Lebrun sit third through fifth, respectively.

Jim McKiernan is the current point leader in the Super Stock division and Caleb Tourville leads the Strictly Stock division.

Be sure to stop by and check out the fast paced, side by side, wheel to wheel racing action at the Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway. To get to the Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway take exit 36 off of I-87, turn left and head a mile south on Route 22, then turn right onto Broderick Rd.
