Tisseur Returns to Airborne
PLATTSBURGH – The popular 358-Modified competitor, Richard Tisseur, is returning to action this season at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh. He will campaign his familiar number 49.
Tisseur last competed at Airborne in 2014 with the 358-Modified division. The division didn’t return the following season and that left Tisseur at home. A couple years later, he competed in a few events in Quebec with the RevStar STR Mini Sprints.
“I’m a 358 guy, not a Sportsman," Tisseur said. “I have a lot of respect for the Sportsman drivers, its a very competitive division.”
Health issues were another reason for cutting back on the racing schedule. Since 2014, Tisseur is doing much better and is raring to go.
“I’m doing much better now,” Tisseur said. “I go to the gym every week and I feel great.”
The news of the 358-Modifieds returning to Airborne excited Tisseur before last season, but it was too late for him to put a car together when he received word in the middle of the winter. With a full season to prepare, he will have two cars ready with the familiar Attaches Châteguay, Reese Towing Products sponsorships on the side of the cars.
Airborne will be the home track for the Sainte-Catherine, Quebec driver. He plans on running select events in the province of Quebec throughout the season.
“I’m very excited and can’t wait to be back at Airborne,” Tisseur said. “It’s my home track.”
Tisseur will be at the first practice of the season on Saturday, April 21. Opening day is scheduled for April 28 with a post time of 6 p.m.
