$20,000 Demolition Derby Weekend
PLATTSBURGH – Over $20,000 in prize money will be at stake this weekend in the $20,000 Demolition Derby Showdown presented by Moore Recycling and Poirier’s True Value. The two-day event will be held at the Clinton County Fair Grounds and is organized by Airborne Park Speedway.
Action will get underway on Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday events will include 4-cylinder heats, consi and feature, women’s feature, truck feature and a kid’s power wheels event. There will also be a hardest hitter of the day awarded to one driver in the field.
Sunday’s events will also get going at 1 p.m. The day will feature 6-cylinder heats, consi and feature, 8-cylinder heats, consi and feature and an Imperial/Kicker feature. Sunday will also have a hardest hitter of the day award.
Inspections will begin both days at 8 a.m. and will close at noon. Any cars that have not been inspected by noon will not be permitted to compete in the events. A pit meeting will be held both days at 12:15 and all participants must be in attendance.
Grandstand admission will be $10 per day for ages 5 and up. Pit admission for non-drivers will be $20 per day. Grandstand tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. with gates opening at 11 a.m.
