Runner-up finish in Xtreme DIRTcar Series finale at Modoc

Competing in the final round of the Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series, Ross Bailes made the short trip to Modoc Raceway (Modoc, S.C.) on Saturday afternoon for the $7,000 top prize. Drawing 29 Late Models, Ross came in second fastest overall in time trials behind Christian Hanger before picking up an eight-lap heat race victory. Receiving the fifth-starting position for the A-Main via the redraw, Bailes tracked down early pace-setter Dustin Mitchell on lap 25 to assume command of the top spot. Unable to hold off Brandon Overton’s late race charge on the high-side, Ross scored a runner-up finish behind Overton, with Mitchell, Hudson O’Neal, and Kyle Strickler rounding out the Top-5.
