POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints Start Season in Stunning Style

Belleville, IL. (06/02/2020) With the season in full-force the next race for the RMLSA is this Saturday, June 6th at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, CO. With drivers taking the tops off for great wingless-lightning sprint racing. Pit Gates open at 3:00 pm with drivers able to register anytime between 3:30-5:30 pm at the RMLSA trailer. Hot Laps will start the night’s festivities at 6:00 pm with racing to follow.

Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, Colorado was the beautiful location to kick off the 2020 POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprint Association race season. Getting underway with a doubleheader of speed for the weekend, fifteen cars would make the long haul for Friday Night’s feature action.

From the previous event Chris Crowder and Dakota Dillin would win the early heat races on Friday night, with the #26 Honda-powered Hyper driven by Chris Crowder winning the opening night feature followed by #44x Brent Sexton from Lakeside, California, and his son #3 Dalton Sexton rounding out the top three. The rest of the field #3J Joel Mellon, #39X Dakota Dillin, #13 Josiah King, #5 Tyler Trengrove, #33 Gale Ingram, #7 Josh Flood, #61 Jesse Fernandez, #9F Andy Flood, #8 Mr. Sexton, #57 Brady Balderston, #75 Junior Thompson and #4 Troy Ullery.

Then on Saturday night, a field of fourteen cars would finish out the weekend programs. The feature would be won by the #24 Honda Powered Hyper driven by 2019 Champion Johnny Boos, followed by the #39X Honda-powered Foz driven by Dakota Dillin, and the #26 Honda-powered Hyper of Chris Crowder. The balance of the field was #3J Joel Mellon, #44x Brent Sexton, #13 Josiah King, #5 Tyler Trengrove, #57 Brady Balderston, #44 Ryan Rader, #75 Junior Thompson.
