Rio Grande Waste Services Highlights $25,000 Wild West Shootout Finale
Mega Event Set for January 8, 9, 12, 14, 15 and 16, 2022 at Vado Speedway Park

VADO, N.M. (September 6, 2021) — The sponsor name may be new, but the man and the team behind it remains the same. In recent years, Larry and Jenn Henk of Premier Waste Services have been annual supporters of the Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Parts with a focus on their sponsor dollars going directly in the pockets of the drivers and teams. However, Premier Waste Services was sold in 2021, and now Larry has started a new company, Rio Grande Waste Services, which will be based in Las Cruces, N.M. just a mere 15 miles from Vado Speedway Park.

Rio Grande Waste Services joins the list of sponsors for the 2022 edition of the miniseries, which features six evenings of racing from January 8-16 at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway Park for the Super Late Model, Modified and X-Modified divisions.

As was done in 2021, the main focus of the Henk-led sponsorship will be the Super Late Model finale, which will be headlined by a $25,000-to-win feature (up from $15,000) along with additional pay increases throughout the rest of the field.  The Rio Grande Waste Services finale race will be presented by Shaw Trucking.

In addition to the finale, every race will take the green flag in the “Rio Grande Waste Services Start Zone, the overall Super Late Model Fast Time (in qualifying) for the six-race miniseries will receive an added $1,000, thanks to the “Rio Grande Waste Services Shock the Clock Challenge and there will be a nightly $500 Super Late Model bonus to the “Rio Grande Waste Services Hard Charger.

With multiple cash prizes being added to the purse by the Henk family, it provides the potential for several different drivers to pocket handsome bonuses.

“I’m excited to continue the relationship with the Wild West Shootout via my new venture, Rio Grande Waste Services, said company owner, Larry Henk. “Being good friends with Royal Jones and having been to Vado Speedway Park already, I feel it is the nicest facility west of the Mississippi and honestly, one of the nicest in the entire country. It’ll be exciting seeing a lot of talented drivers going after the extra cash at such a great track.

2017 Wild West Shootout champion Bobby Pierce, who is the nephew of Larry Henk, will carry the Rio Grande Waste Services logo into battle on his familiar No. 32 Super Late Model throughout the 2022 Wild West Shootout in an effort increase exposure for his uncle’s new venture.

“So many of us experienced a challenging 2021, but not many folks had to go through the past year that Larry and his family have endured. Through it all, he has started a new venture and has chosen our event to help spread the word. Larry grew up in and around Super Late Model racing, thanks to Bob Pierce, and continues to support the racing program of his nephew Bobby (Pierce). He loves being part of any event where he gets to see Bobby race. While Larry travels around the country to a lot of events, it’s definitely an added bonus that the Wild West Shootout brings the Pierce family to his backyard, said Wild West Shootout Marketing Director, Jason Babyak.

Online sales of single and multi-day tickets have officially begun for the Southwest’s popular miniseries, which features six nights of racing from January 8 – 16 for Super Late Models, Modifieds and X-Mods at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway Park.

Tickets are priced at $25 per night for adults and $10 for kids ages 6-12 with children 5-and-under admitted free of charge.

Over $250,000 in prize money will be on the line during the 16th Annual Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts. The event includes six complete programs for three divisions.
