Mark Dobmeier – Two More Wins and 360 Nationals Bound!

Lunstra Motorsports and Mark Dobmeier PR

August 2, 2013 – Mark Dobmeier had the weekend he was looking for heading into the two biggest weekends of the racing year. He led his Lunstra Motorsports prepared Eagle to wins at his home track of River Cities Speedway on Friday and he finished the weekend off with another win at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday. Sandwiched in between were hard-charger honors at the Knoxville Raceway.
The weekend started off in Grand Forks, N.D. with
“Dynamite” picking up his fourth win of the year the track known as “The Bullring.” The win was also his 98th career of the track. He started ninth on the grid and took over the lead around the halfway point and went off to pick up the win aboard his Senske & Son car.

“Just like the week before we started ninth and took the lead about halfway,” Dobmeier said. “The car was a rocket and my guys continue to work their tail off on this car resulting in these wins.”

34 cars were signed in the next night for another night to prepare for the upcoming FVP Knoxville Nationals. After going out late in qualifying, Dobmeier was the 16th quickest car. The Big Trucks by Jimco #13 won their heat after starting third and would wind up starting 14th in the feature. Dobmeier was able to make a hard charge to the front in the quick 20 lap feature winding up with a fourth place finish, and the hard charger honors.

“The car was great all night,” Dobmeier stated. “We went out a little late in qualifying, but after that we were really, really fast. I am really looking forward to the next couple of weeks down here. I think if we can get a good pill draw (for the 360 and 410 Nationals) that will set up the rest of our weekend as this car is bad fast in race conditions.”

The weekend ended at Huset’s with only 12 cars signing in for the night. After timing fifth quick and running second in the heat, the Sioux Falls Ford #13 would line up third for the feature grid. He quickly took the lead on lap five and set sail on the field. After a caution around halfway, Mark had National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Jac Haudenschild catch him in traffic. He was able to hold off “The Wild Child” to pick up his 12th win of 2013 and his fourth of the year at Huset’s. It was also his 51st of his career at the track.

“They kept saying Jac was coming and I’m so glad that we were able to hold him off,” Dobmeier said after the race. “We were a little loose there late in the race but the track was awesome to drive on.”

Dobmeier and his Dammer Trucking #13 qualify tonight (Friday) for the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Nationals. They are able to run this weekend due to getting a Kistler Motor from the Grinch Motorsports team, specifically Big Trucks by Jimco. The Lunstra Motorsports team also has a fresh Fisher Motor thanks to Dammer Trucking going to pick it up in Ohio last week.

“I really can’t thank these guys enough for what they’ve done to help us going into the Nationals,” Mark said. “We are as ready as ever and ready to succeed in the next couple of weekends.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team will be signed in tonight at Knoxville for their preliminary feature and the following night for the finale to the 360 Nationals. They’ll put in the 410 for the 2nd Annual “Capitani Classic” which is a pivotal points race for the 410 division. Last year saw nearly 70 cars for the event leading into the Nationals. Then there is a possibility of running Monday night at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa with the 360 for the Front Row Challenge.
