Heartland Auto Racing Tour Appoints New Management For Micros
SEYMOUR, Ind. - Officials with the Heartland Auto Racing Tour are excited to announce that Terry Mattox, founder of the National Open Wheel 600 Series, is now at the helm of HART Micros effective immediately. The premier Midwest regional touring series will officially fly underneath the NOW600 banner moving forward.
“When we (Dirt2Media) acquired HART last season, I knew it was going to be difficult for me personally to take on the extra work load in addition to all of my other roles, but I couldn’t pass on the opportunity and decided that we would just figure it out. As I work on realigning some of my personal and business goals moving forward, I’ve decided that I’m not the guy to best manage things moving forward,” said Ryan Bowling, founder and co-owner of Dirt2Media.
“Terry (Mattox) is a good friend and is more than qualified to take this deal and run with it. We will still work closely together to ensure the series accomplishes the goals me and my business partner had envisioned.”
Dirt2Media acquired HART in 2023 from Dewain Hulett who founded the series. Outlaw Non-Wing, Restricted, and Junior Sprints currently make up the three touring divisions competing across four states throughout the Midwest region.
“I am excited for this new venture. I appreciate Ryan for giving me this opportunity to take on HART while I put my focus on Micro Sprint racing across the country. Ryan and I share many similar goals and looking forward to carrying them out.”
The National Open Wheel 600 Series enters its twelfth season of sanctioning Micro Sprint racing across the country. Anchored by the Dirt2Media NOW600 National Championship, the NOW600 Series is made up of several regional tours and sanctioned race tracks. The NOW600 National Championship features three divisions of 600cc Micro Sprints at each event: Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class and Restricted 'A' Class.
The next event for the HART Micros will be May 17th at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis followed by the ‘Cornfield Combat’ on Memorial Day weekend at Macon Speedway in Macon, Ill.
