Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series
Magnolia Next For America's Leader In Racing
Columbus, Mississippi, is the next stop for the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series. Magnolia Motor Speedway will host the series on Friday night, July 12th, and Saturday night, July 13th, for the 20th Annual Governor's Cup, paying $10,000 to win for the 604 late models on Saturday night.
This will be the only visit to "The Mag" for the Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series in 2024, but it will be the 25th time the series has visited the Johnny Stokes-owned facility. The first visit came back on October 22, 2006, when Mike Boland held off David Gentry and Ronnie Johnson to pick up the victory. Recently, Mark Whitener and Wil Herrington have had the most success at Magnolia, winning a combined 4 of the last 6 events. However, Ronnie Johnson showed he could still get it done in 2022, scoring his third career win at the Magnolia Motor Speedway. Mark Whitener's win in 2023 demonstrated just how tough the "Magic Man" really is, as he picked up a huge $10,000 win in the Dr. Dirt Classic despite battling sore ribs from a hard crash the week before at the East Alabama Motor Speedway. The win helped propel Whitener to his first career Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series championship in 2023.
