ROC SPORTSMAN SERIES HEADS TO CHEMUNG SPEEDROME THIS SATURDAY FOR THE CONTINUING TRADITION OF “THE NIGHT BEFORE THE GLEN”

The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series will play the headline role this Saturday at the Chemung (NY) Speedrome, September 14 for the traditional running of the “Night before the Glen”. The event is always one of the most anticipated events of the racing season in the Southern Tier region of the state.

Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, NY, is the most recent winner in Series competition and is one of six winners this season in a very competitive season. Timmerman won the last Series race at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY, his home track.

“Chemung is always competitive and presents a challenge,” offered Timmerman. “It’s a race where you want to run clean and just be there at the end. Patience and a good car always help, but lady luck has to ride with you as well. We’re looking forward to being the headline division this Saturday with an exciting weekend of racing in the area.”

The Race of Champions Super Stock Series continue their season long battle as well as the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series being in action this Saturday. The weekly Chemung Hobby Stock division will also be in action for the final race of the season at the Southern Tier speedplant.
