JUKASA MOTOR SPEEDWAY SET TO HOST “GREAT CANADIAN 100” FOR THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS THIS SATURDAY, JULY 14, 2018
The stage is set at one of the finest short track venues in North America for the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series to visit this coming Saturday, July 14 as Jukasa Motor Speedway in Central Ontario for a 100-lap race being billed as “The Great Canadian 100”.
The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series and the International Super Modified Association (ISMA) take center stage at the multi-million dollar facility for the first time as only a two-division show together.
“Our fans spoke up and wanted to see open-wheel modified racing at our track,” stated Alex Nagy, General Manager Jukasa Motor Speedway. “We are really looking forward to this event. The feeling is incredible, we are really excited about it and look forward to another great event. This is the type of show our fans really wanted to see with open wheels and lots of speed. We’re really looking forward to it.”
Modifieds, including the Race of Champions Modified Series have visited Cayuga over the years. The speedway, which Bob Slack opened in 1966, played a major role in short track racing in North America throughout it’s time. The last time the Series visited the legendary George Kent won in July of 2002. In recent years the facility has been renamed and remodeled into what is now Jukasa Motor Speedway.
As part of the festivities to go along with the race weekend, Jukasa Motor Speedway in a partnership with popular southern Ontario radio station 97.7 HTZFM, will present a concert on Friday, July 13 with the popular Canadian performing artist The Sheepdogs along with Texas King to give fans an entire weekend to enjoy the facility.
Set on over 300 acres the newly named Jukasa Motor Speedway offers the motorsport fan a full range of amenities. There are over 1,100 camp sites with many serviced with hydro and water, refreshment and souvenir booths and free parking to ensure comfort and enjoyment for all who attend the events. An added bonus at some events is the entertainment under the covered band shell pavilion – a popular gathering spot in the evenings. Quality will be the name of the game at Jukasa Motor Speedway, and for the fans, competitors, media and sponsors alike, Jukasa will strive to offer one of the most professional run motorsport facilities in North America.
