Race of Champions
US ARMY RETURNS AS MAJOR PARTNER WITH THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS SERIES AND WILL HAVE MAJOR PRESENCE AT TWO EVENTS
-US Army set to Recruit and Create Awareness during events at Lake Erie Speedway-
New Castle, Pa. – (May 8, 2018) – The United States Army will have a major presence within the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series in 2018, along with being present at the June 9 and Race of Champions weekend events September 27, 28 and 29 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., during Race of Champion Weekend at the ultra-modern 3/8-mile oval.
In addition to the presence at the two events, the US Army will present the US Army “Top Performer” Award at each and every Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series event during the 2018 season. The “Top Performer” Award will go to the team that posts the fastest lap of the night in the feature event per the electronic AMB scoring system that the Race of Champions uses.
The team posting the fastest lap will receive a $50 bonus from the Army. The award is contingent on the car displaying the US Army decal.
In addition the US Army will be present at the June 9 and September 27, 28 and 29 events at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania. Recruitment officers will be in attendance at both events.
In September the US Army will once again host a commencement ceremony to swear in new recruits; present the nations colors; perform the national anthem; present the Al Gerber Memorial Trophy as well as have a display area to communicate and make aware the opportunities that the largest branch of the United States Military Service has to offer, in addition to vehicles and equipment on display.
The United States Army (USA) is the largest branch of the United States Armed Forces and performs land-based military operations. It is one of the five uniformed services of the United States. As the oldest and most senior in order of precedence branch of the U.S. Military, the modern US Army has roots back to the Continental Army.
The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, US Army, Upstate Automotive Group, Waddell Communications, Pilat Graphic Design, Jerico Performance, TDH Refrigeration, Sherwood Racing Wheels, PavedTrackDigest.com and Speed51.com. The 68th annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2018 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.
