SPEEDWAY ILLUSTRATED TO PRESENT ROOKIE-OF-THE-YEAR AWARDS FOR RACE OF CHAMPIONS SERIES
-Speedway Illustrated will continue with Rookie-of-the-Year Awards in 2018-
Ispwich, Massachusestts (April 28, 2018) – Speedway Illustrated, the top monthly publication in the motorsports industry, has agreed to continue presenting the Rookie-of-the-Year Awards for the Race of Champions family of series throughout the 2018 season.
The recipients will receive a cash and bonus prize to honor their accomplishments. The Modified Series top rookie will earn $200, plus awards, while the Sportsman Modified, Late Model, and 602 Dirt Sportsman Modified Series rookies will earn $100 each, plus awards. The Super Stock Series rookie will earn an additional $75, plus awards while the Four Cylinder Series Rookie of the Year will take home a special award from Speedway Illustrated.
“The Race of Champions is one of the most recognized sanctions and series in the Northeast and we are proud to play a part in their program,” explained Karl Fredrickson, Senior Editor of Speedway Illustrated. “The rookie-of-the-year competitors that will be honored as well as all of the racers that compete with the Race of Champions are the type of people that make our magazine what it is. They are the type of folks that we do this for and we are thrilled that we can be a part of this program.”
Since 2016, each Race of Champions member, as part of their membership package receives a yearly subscription to Speedway Illustrated. Speedway Illustrated is in its 18th volume and has a circulation of more than 40,000 passionate readers throughout all levels of stock car racing. Many readers actively participate in the sport and seek Speedway Illustrated for its highest-rated personal and technical stories create knowledge for all of those readers.
The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Upstate Automotive Group, Waddell Communications, Pilat Graphic Design, Jerico Performance, TDH Refrigeration, Sherwood Racing Wheels, PavedTrackDigest.com and Speed51.com. The 68th annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2018 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.
