Bailey Earns Top Five During Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series Event

Inside Line Promotions – GREAT FALLS, Mont. (June 24, 2020) – Rich Bailey achieved his goal last Friday during his first time racing a sprint car in more than a decade.

Bailey and car owner Mike Quigley scored a heat race win and a fourth-place finish in the Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series main event at Electric City Speedway.

“It went pretty good,” Bailey said. “It was a little hectic at the start. We were thrashing stuff for hot laps. By the heat race I felt pretty comfortable. I started on the pole and it’s pretty easy when you don’t have to pass anybody.”

Bailey lined up on the inside of the second row for the feature, which was cut short just after the midpoint because of rain.

“Starting the A Main I was a little rusty in traffic,” he said. “I got bottled up and fell to fifth. It took me a couple of laps to get going. Once I got to the outside I got my momentum up and got to fourth. I was keeping up with second and third, but I missed my line a couple of times and they’d spread back out. We learned a lot about the car and I felt pretty comfortable by the end of the night. I’d call it a successful night.”

Bailey will return to the bullring this Friday for another Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series event.

“I know what to expect, which is big for me,” he said. “We had the car close so we know what to expect. That gives you more confidence as far as tuning it and driving it.”
