Rilat Records Inaugural Northwest Challenge Series Win; Lorenz, Meirhofer and Craver Also Victorious During Harvey Ostermiller Special at BMP Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (June 17, 2017) – Travis Rilat captured the inaugural Northwest Challenge Series event on Saturday evening during the Harvey Ostermiller Special at BMP Speedway.

Rilat led the final 19 laps of the 25-lap main event to score the victory with the series, which is a co-sanctioned series featuring the NSA Series, which serves Montana and Western Canada, and the Washington-based Summer Thunder Sprint Series.

Additionally, Rod Lorenz claimed his second WISSOTA midwest modifieds win of the season, Jeremy Meirhofer earned his third WISSOTA super stocks triumph this year and Cory Craver netted his second straight WISSOTA street stocks victory.

Rilat started the 360ci winged sprint car main event on the inside of the third row. Polesitter Trever Kirkland led the first six laps before Rilat took the lead. A pair of cautions bunched the field together for restarts, but Rilat maintained the lead to garner his second straight win in the state of Montana.

Casey Adams maneuvered from seventh to second place with Kelly Miller rounding out the podium. David Hoiness advanced from ninth to fourth place and Kirkland finished fifth.

Miller and Kirkland were the heat race winners.

Lorenz charged from seventh to become the first repeat winner in the WISSOTA midwest modifieds class this season. Cody Kuglin rallied from sixth to second place with John Hurd placing third, ninth-starting Dennis Hurd fourth and Devin Kenaston fifth.

Steven Stephenson, Kenaston and John Hurd each won a heat race.

Meirhofer remained the driver to beat in the WISSOTA super stocks division as he scored his second straight victory and track-leading third trip to Victory Lane this season. Jace Lorenz earned a runner-up result with Vance Lorenz ending third. Jason George, who claimed the lone heat race, was fourth and Thomas May finished fifth.

Craver advanced from eighth to earn the WISSOTA street stocks A Main win. Robert Petroff placed second, Christopher Harley third, Brice Miesmer fourth and Troy Lorenz fifth.

Harley and Craver both recorded a heat race victory.

BMP Speedway will host the Mid Mod Monster Bash featuring WISSOTA late models, WISSOTA super stocks, WISSOTA midwest modifieds and the Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series next Friday.
