Mullens and Schniepp to Decide NCRA Modified Points Battle This Saturday Night!

Park City, Kansas – October 15, 2018 - While crazier things have happened in the past, just two drivers are currently competing for the 2018 National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified point championship. And with the season finale coming up this Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City, anything that can possibly happen just might as the tour closes out their 23st consecutive season.
On the strength of seven feature victories thus far this season, third-generation driver Tanner Mullens of Wichita comes into race night with a slim fifteen-point lead over fellow Wichita driver Cody Schniep. Schniepp, who scored his first-career series victory back on August 31 at Salina (Kansas) Speedway, led the point standings for much of the season before Mullens went on a hot streak.
While the focus is on the two, above mentioned drivers, crazier things have happened and don’t be surprised if former tour champion Tyler Davis has his say on how things will play out. Davis is 220-points out of the point lead but with over thirty cars expected in the season finale, nothing is solidified just yet.
Three-time and defending four champion Dan Powers has struggled this season and would be happy to just reach victory lane for the first time this season. He comes into the night 255-points out of the point lead while former tour champion Scott Green sits fifth in the standings.
Sixth through tenth are Josh Lanterman, Brandon Massey, Bryce Schniepp, Jake Nightingale and Cory Lagroon.
C. Schniepp also leads the current rookie of the year standings by ten points over Tad Davis and sixteen points over B. Schniepp.
Gates for this Saturday night at 81 Speedway will open at 5:00 PM with race action set for 7:00 PM. Grandstand general admission is just $15 for adults while children eleven and under will be admitted, into the grandstands, for free. This will also be Business Appreciation Night at the speedway with all City, State and County employees being admitted into the grandstands for free as well as one of your guest. You must present your current badge or paystub, along with your ID, to be admitted.
