NSTA Top Speed Modified Tour
Changes to Winchester Events
Carmel, IN (July 17, 2017) - NSTA Racing Officials were notified by Winchester Speedway last week that the track will now sanction modified racing on August 4th, September 4th and October 7th. As a result, these events will no longer be sanctioned or affiliated with the National Short Track Alliance.
Winchester Speedway gave no indication as to the reasoning behind this decision, other than a long-held desire to run modifieds on their own.
The NSTA Top Speed Modified Tour is actively seeking other venues to replace these lost dates. The Tour will not schedule against the October 7th date, in order to allow teams who wish to compete in the "Run for the Gun" event to do so.
"Our Tour, officials, drivers and teams are disappointed to learn about these late-season changes," said NSTA Modified Tour Director John Robbins. "The Tour and Winchester have a long history and rich tradition, and we were looking forward to putting on great shows for the fans later this year. We wish them the best of luck in promoting these events."
The next NSTA Top Speed Modified Tour event will take place Friday, July 21st at Toledo Speedway, followed by Anderson Speedway on July 29th.
