CH Motorsports and Chaney Net Top 10 During Return to Racing

Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (June 13, 2017) – Rob Chaney led CH Motorsports to a top-10 finish last Friday during the team’s first race in approximately seven weeks.

“I felt like we were running our third race of the season,” he said. “We weren’t very good all night and kind of maintained. I felt like we were off all night. We weren’t bad, but not good.”

Chaney timed in fourth quickest in his group, which put him on the pole of a FAST Series heat race. He finished third in the heat race to lock into the feature redraw. However, he pulled the highest number – 10 – during the random draw to start the main event on the outside of the fifth row.

“We may have been a fifth-place car if we started up front,” he said. “The front three were pretty good. When the tracks get slick it makes it tough to pass. You work on a guy for six or seven laps to pass. So if we started toward the front we probably could have maintained, but we weren’t good enough to drive to the front.”

Chaney battled for a top 10 throughout the feature before posting a 10th-place result, which was the team’s second straight top 10.

Chaney said the team will tackle the Ohio Speedweek opener at Attica Raceway Park this Friday with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, but any additional Speedweek races will be decided at the last minute.
