Talladega Short Track Hosts Lucas Oil Late Models Saturday, October 8th

BATAVIA, Ohio (October 4, 2022) – The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make their first, and only, appearance this season in the state of Alabama this weekend.

The nation’s top dirt late model drivers will converge at Talladega Short Track, better known as “The Hornet's Nest,” for a single-day, $15,000-to-win event on Saturday, October 8th. A full program is on deck for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, which includes Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap main event.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be joined by the Crate Racing USA Late Model Sportsman, Crate Racing USA Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Hot Shots.

All gates on Saturday, October 8th will open at 2:00 PM CST. A driver autograph session is scheduled from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM CST – with on track action beginning at 6:15 PM CST.

Tim McCreadie maintains his lead in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship standings with just two events remaining this season. Brandon Sheppard remains second at a 160-point deficit, followed by Ricky Thornton Jr., Hudson O’Neal, and Earl Pearson Jr. Garrett Alberson leads the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year battle.

Left Front – Hoosier Rib (28.5) 1350 or harder
Right Front/Left Rear - Hoosier Rib (28.5) 1350
Right Rear - Hoosier (29.0) 1350 NRM, (29.0) 1350 NRMW, (29.0) White Dot 1600 NRM, (29.0) White Dot 1600 NRMW

*Can cut and/or sipe any tire.
*Must use the same set of 4 tires for Time Trials, Heat Races, and B-Mains
*For the A-Main, competitors may use a new right rear tire.
*Flat tire must be replaced with a used tire of the same compound & construction to retain starting position.
