Ohio Valley Speedway Tabbed To Host “Renegade Nationals”, October 9th & 10th!
(Middlebourne, WV) – It'll be Almost Heaven in the Autumn Hills of West Virginia this October for the Inaugural Renegade Nationals! Series officials are excited to announce the new event will be held at the Ohio Valley Speedway in Washington, WV, October 9th & 10th, 2020! Under new ownership “The Valley” is now owned & operated by Ohio Valley Motorsports Group, of Tyler Co. / Mega 100 fame.
The Renegades of Dirt Modified Tours most ambitious schedule in series history will see teams battle for numerous high dollar pay days and the all new “Renegade Nationals” is no different! The fresh new event being labled as the “next big thing” in modified racing is slated for Oct. 9th and 10th as part of a $5,000 to win weekend for the 'most wanted mods' in motorsports. The Inaugural “Renegade Nationals” will be headlined by the UMP DirtCar Renegades of Dirt as they duke it out in a two day $5,000 to win main event that also features a $1,000 to win “All-Star Race” on Friday night!
The 2020 “Renegade Nationals” will witness qualifying and extended heat races on Friday night awarding points for each with the highest sixteen in Friday Prelim Points locking directly into Saturdays main event with the remainder of the field filling out either the “Last Chance Shootout” or one of the twin $700 to win “DirtCar Duels”. The “Last Chance Shootout” will transfer six cars into the main event featuring drivers from 17th - 36th in Friday points, acting similar to a B-Main.
Drivers failing to qualify for the A-Main via points and the LCS will make up either of the two “DirtCar Duel” Features Saturday. For a total of three feature races showcased just for the UMP/RoDT Modifieds on Saturday night. This concept creates an innovate way for all event competitors to compete in a feature event for their two day efforts. The 2020 Renegade of Dirt Series Champion will also be crowned with the pair of marquee events finishing the 2020 slate for the tour being non-points awarding specials only.
Additionally, Friday nights unique “Renegade All-Star Race” is sure to be a barn burner following heat race action. The field will be filled by competitors who were voted in by fellow teams and fans. However, drivers will have to earn their spot in the vote by finishing inside the top five in any Renegade A-Main prior to the weekend. Voting will begin on September 21st and end on October 2nd. Reiterating, at any 2020 Renegade of Dirt event the top five finishers in the A-Main will earn an 'All-Star Bid' for the chance to be voted into the special race at the “Renegade Nationals” on October 9th! The top eighteen racers in fan votes will compete for their share of the $1,000 to win A-Main prize.
The rebooted sister series to the Renegades of Dirt, the Octane Race Products “Road Warrior Tour” will also visit the Ohio Valley Speedway on Oct. 9th and 10th to crown its champion and showcase the Sport Modified division with the Road Warrior Season Championship! The Road Warriors will battle for a $700 to win main event on Friday night before dueling for the largest prize of the year on Saturday listed at $2,000. Thus wrapping up the lucrative 2020 season points championship.
The “Renegade Nationals” event brings about a two day camping and racing weekend that seeks to showcase the Ohio Valley Speedway at its absolute finest. A hidden gem in many a'circles the legendary speedway has operated off and on for sixty two years. Racers and fans alike will take in the magic of Wood County, WV as the autumn leaves set a beautiful backdrop to the seasons end. Octobers and fall racing action in West Virginia are uniquely unequaled anywhere. As fans make the scenic drive, “The Valley” will come to life for the final time in 2020 orchestrating the final line of the seasons Renegades of Dirt and Road Warrior points championships.
