Summit Racing Equipment to Return as Title Sponsor for the MARS Modified Championship Tour
FAIRBURY, IL (November 4, 2024) – After two successful seasons in the record books for the MARS Modified Championship tour, series officials are excited to announce that Summit Racing Equipment will be returning as the series title sponsor for 2025 and beyond.
In addition to Summit Racing Equipment continuing as the title sponsor, they will continue to be a contingency sponsor contributing to each event in 2025 and into the future. Summit Racing Equipment will award more than $4,000 in product certificates and awards to competitors next season.
“To be able to continue our partnership with Summit Racing Equipment after a pair of spectacular seasons with the MARS Modified Tour is tremendous,” said MARS Series owner Matt Curl. “Jim Greenleaf has been one of the biggest advocates for grassroots racing, especially in our region, over the past decade, and we look forward to continuing to raise awareness about Summit Racing Equipment and their products.”
The new multi-year deal will bring Summit Racing Equipment back with the leader of DIRTcar UMP Modified touring racing and further strengthen the tours plan for the future. Over the past two seasons, the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment has paid out over $50,000 in points fund money. Look for more information on the 2025 season including the series schedule to be posted in the coming weeks.
In the first two seasons of the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment tour, some of the largest DIRTcar UMP Modified events in the Midwest have been ran under the MARS banner such as the Illinois Dirt Shootout, Plowboy Nationals, Illini 100, Gary Cook Jr Memorial, Brownstown 100, and the FALS Frenzy, among others. Michael Long (Fowler, IL) has captured the series championship in back-to-back years and currently heads the all-time series win list with 13 victories. In the inaugural season, the MARS Modified tour averaged just over 35 cars per event, while in 2024 that number inflated to over 46 cars per event.
