Play in the Clay!

Clay County Speedway that is! Friday night Winged Miniakota micro sprints! Clay has its opener on 5/26/16

Over the weekend Phase 1 has been completed at the Clay County speedway micro track. We want to thank all the club & track volunteers that have spent many days on equipment getting us to this point. Clay County’s long and short term commitment to give us a great micro sprint track is clear. From the equipment, fuel, manpower provided & respectful commitment to our Miniakota future it is all greatly appreciated.
The tracks infancy will provide us a wide 1/6 mile semi banked clay surface. We will give this current configuring some laps and see if it produces the racing we are looking for and have been missing in our area. If it doesn’t, the track will be reworked and re configured to make that happen. Clay County’s speedway’s long term commitment, available room & equipment makes this possibly. John Rosacker head of track prep,“If it needs to be changed, we change it, If we need more bank we add it, If it needs to be prepped a certain way we will work on it. If we don’t like the burm, we take it out. Whatever it takes. We will have some learning to do but we will not just dump some water on it and call it good. This is a work of art in progress and we look forward to working with the group for years to come.” With plenty of options in regards to oversized micro tracks in the 3/8 range for the area this track is a must for our racing to continue growing and survive in the area. We hope everyone can come out and enjoy this opportunity and support Clay County speedway during this season.
Our opening night dubbed “Play in the Clay” will be this coming weekend Friday night 5/13 weather permitting. The Miniakota group will be running wings & wheeling the new track. We will have special Miniakota Pit & club meeting to discuss the track, this year’s schedule updates and memberships prior to the race. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.
