Sammy Swindell Sweeps Weekend Wins at Vado Speedway Park with POWRi Desert Wing Sprints

Belleville, IL. (9/4/23) Offering a fast-paced fourth-weekend double-header of racing excitement while celebrating the Labor Day Weekend, the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series presented by MVT Services would continue the 360 Wing-Sprint action around in a return to Vado Speedway Park as Sammy Swindell would prove his racing legacy’s strength in sweeping feature victories on the two-day adventure in speed.

Venturing to Vado with twenty-four entries while kicking off the Labor Day doubleheader weekend in Night One would find Sammy Swindell, Royal Jones, and Spencer Hill each notch heat racing wins with Sammy Swindell gaining the pole-starting grid for the feature event after an Intermission redraw.

Going green flag feature racing for the seventh time in 2023 would find second-starting Sammy Swindell and Caleb Saiz splitting time in the preferred position with Saiz leading twelve laps in the twenty-five-lap main event with Sammy Swindell leading most laps at thirteen.

Using patience and precision, hall-of-fame-wheelman Sammy Swindell would out-maneuver the leader to overtake the top spot late in the feature. Holding steady out front, the speedster Swindell would not be denied in notching his second career Desert Wing Sprint feature victory.

Keeping close, ninth-starting, one-time leader, and hard-charger Caleb Saiz would fly past seven drivers to finish runner-up as JT Imperial would finish third from starting fifth. Third-starting Brett Becker placed fourth with twelfth-starting Lorne Wofford rounding out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series on Night One at Vado Speedway Park.

Proceeding into the second night of holiday weekend racing would witness Alex Pettas, Don Grable, and Jesse Baker each winning heat races with Sammy Swindell earning the pole-starting grid for the feature event after an Intermission reshuffle.

Flying into the second night of feature action with twenty-five entries would find Night One Winner Sammy Swindell clinch the lead while wheeling his way out front of the field for all thirty laps to notch his third career POWRi DWSS feature victory with Caleb Saiz finishing runner-up as Don Grable finalized the podium placements.

Contending up front, Wes Wofford would finish fourth with Brett Becker rounding out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series Night Two of the weekend double-header at Vado Speedway Park.
