Schuett closes out 2017 with USAC National Knepper 55 appearance

Dupo, IL (December 22, 2017) Kyle Schuett and several other USAC National Midget competitors wrapped up their 2017 racing seasons this past weekend as the series headed to the Southern Illinois Center in DuQuoin, Illinois for the Third Annual Junior Knepper 55. Fifty-six racers signed in to do battle at one of the most exciting little race tracks in Southern Illinois. Kyle and his Schuett Racing team unloaded the Health Alliance sponsored #9K with hopes of returning to indoor racing victory lane, as Kyle picked up his first midget A-main win just two years ago indoors at the inaugural Indy Invitational.
Indoor racing for USAC also takes on a bit of a different format that their traditional outdoor qualifying style racing. Starting the night with heat races, Kyle started sixth and finished sixth in heat race action. Based on passing points, this put him in a qualifier event, where picked up another sixth-place finish. His pair of sixth places put him in one of two B-mains on the night. Unfortunately for Kyle, short track, indoor racing is tough and he just couldn’t make it forward enough to transfer into the night’s 55-lap A-main event. Kyle ended the night and his 2017 season with a seventh-place finish in the B-main. While not the results he strives for, it was a great practice session for the upcoming Chili Bowl Nationals as the team has made some more changes over the fall and are really excited about the upcoming season.
As the holidays come near, Kyle and his team would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Kyle is in the process of finishing up college and will have a lot of changes coming his way in 2018, and he is looking forward to each and every challenge. He and his team are excited about all the changes they made in 2017 and can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store on the race track. Kyle Schuett fans – look for the Schuett Racing #9K, Mopar SR-11 powered DRC Chassis to be at a racetrack near you and up in the front of the field. Kyle will be back in action on January 8th when the 2018 Chili Bowl Nationals kick off in Tulsa, Oklahoma. MAVTV will feature an all-day Chili Bowl Marathon on Saturday, January 13th with the A-main finishing out the night. Be sure to tune in to MAVTV and social media for updates all week long.
As they wrap up 2017 and begin looking forward to 2018, Kyle and the entire Schuett Racing would like to thank all the sponsors and partners who make racing each weekend possible.
