Indiana Midget Week Begins June 10
KT WINS “MIDGET MAYNIA” AT PLYMOUTH, RAINS TAKE RACE #2
The Honda USAC National Midget Series resumes June 10 as the 2015 “Indiana Midget Week” gets under way at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway.
Tracy Hines of New Castle, Ind. is the new series point leader as he continues his pursuit of the final leg of a USAC Triple Crown Championship. He takes a three-point lead over Darren Hagen into the June 10 “Indiana Midget Week” opener.
Hines finished third in Friday night’s 30-lap “Midget Maynia” feature at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway won by Kevin Thomas Jr. Thomas, of Cullman, Ala., earned his initial series victory in the Kunz Motorsports/Curb-Agajanian Toyota TRD Bullet/Speedway Toyota after passing Tyler Courtney on lap 12 and leading the rest of the way.
Teammate Tanner Thorson took second ahead of Hines, Dave Darland and Hagen. Thorson’s finish left him in third in the new series standings, just six points behind Hines.
