Two-time USAC National Midget Car Owner Champion Ralph Potter passed away Monday at age 81. The owner of Ralph's Muffler Shops in Indianapolis, Ind., Potter had a checkered career as a USAC car owner, including 16 National Midget wins and the 2000 Silver Crown victory at Knoxville, Iowa with driver Jay Drake. Significant Midget wins included the 1993 Night Before the 500 Classic in Indianapolis with driver Mike Bliss and the 1995 Hoosier Dome Invitational in Indianapolis with driver Stevie Reeves, plus Dave Blaney's victory in the 1993 Chili Bowl Midget race in Tulsa, Okla. In addition, Ralph's sons competed in numerous USAC events. USAC extends its deepest condolences to the entire Potter family and his many friends and associates.
