Looking Ahead at the Ironman 55

Belleville, IL. (08/03/2020) The roster for Friday and Saturdays POWRi Lucas Oil National show at Federated Auto Parts Raceway is looking to be a spectacular one.

POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will have a lot of familiar drivers on the docket for this weekend’s race. One of the POWRi regulars, Jake Neuman will be one to watch at the historic I-55 Raceway. Neuman the New Berlin, IL. native is currently leading the points battle in hopes to capture his first ever POWRi National Championship. Neuman leads with 160 points ahead of Cannon McIntosh. Neuman has started off the year accumulating six top five finishes and ten top tens. With Cannon McIntosh heading to Pennsylvania Midget Week with USAC this coming weekend Jake is looking to capitalize and extend his points lead over the rest of the field.

Another driver to look out for this weekend will be Kaylee Bryson. She has been a head turner all year and keeps knocking on the door for a win. The Muskogee, OK. native is looking to be the first female to ever win a POWRi Midget feature event. Bryson is currently sitting in eighth position for points on the season. Kaylee sits behind the wheel of the #71 for the Keith Kunz-Curb Agajanian Motorsports team. She has captured two top fives and five top ten finishes. Bryson sits a little over 800 points behind Neuman in the points chase. With over 10 races left in the 2020 race season, anything is possible.

This weekend will play a big part in season point standings. Jake Neuman leads, Cannon McIntosh in second, Ace McCarthy in Third, Michael “Buddy” Kofoid in fourth, and Zach Daum rounds out your top five positions in points. This weekend the KKM stable will split, half will go to Pennsylvania and half will join POWRi at I-55. McIntosh and Kofoid who sit second and fourth in points will both miss this weekend’s races. This will be giving Ace McCarthy the chance to take over the second position and try to track down Jake Neuman.
