Alex Truscinski Wins POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals Night One at Devils Lake Speedway

Belleville, IL. (8/11/23) Flying into the Fifth Annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals a fresh face hosting series would take center stage as the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series would welcome forty-one competitors from eight states as well as five drivers from Canada. Cruising onto the finely prepared Devils Lake Speedway, reigning National Champion Alex Truscinski would reign supreme from the hosting Minn-Kota region to claim Night One Victory.

Starting the four-day speed-fest in Crary North Dakota with forty-one entries, Night One of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals would display the diversity of drivers in attendance with defending POWRi RMLSA Champion Johnny Boos claiming checkers in Heat Race One, Canadian talent Stephane St-Laurent victorious in Heat Race Two, Wisconsin Wheelman Mike Neau winning Heat Race Three, as hosting POWRi MKLS point leader Kate Taves would earn heat race four victory. Semi-feature winners would include SWLS Speed-Patriarch Brent Sexton and Quebec front-runner Jeremy Lafleur.

Launching on the feature green flag racing would find defending POWRi National Lightning Sprint Champion and Dash winner Alex Truscinski battle front-row companion Wisconsin wheeler Mark Heiner into the first pair of corners as Alex would blast to the preferred position with Dexter Dvergsten, Heinert, Boos, and St-Laurent rounded out the top five positions as the field filed in for spots behind the leader.

Holding the front of the field for the duration of the twenty-five-lap feature event, Alex Truscinski would not be denied in backing up the 2022 National notable hardware by separating himself by leading the pack by over two-and-a-half seconds. Earning his twenty-ninth career victory in the POWRi Lightning Sprint Division, the younger Truscinski driver leads the weeklong racing retreat after the Night One feature victory.

Cruising from starting tenth would witness Alex Therrien advance eight positions to finish runner-up as current National Point Leader Dexter Dvergsten would clinch third. Seventh-starting Stephane St-Laurent finished fourth with hard-charger Brent Sexton advancing twelves spots to round out the top-five finishers for the hosting POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series feature event at Devils Lake Speedway for Night One of the 2023 POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals.
