UMSS - Traditional Sprint Car Series
UMSS Traditional Sprints have a Fantastic Season Opener
The UMSS had sunshine and 70 degree weather to usher in a stout 18 car field to open their 2019 season at Cedar Lake Speedway. There would be three Pirtek Fluid Transfer Solutions heat races that saw one caution for debris and one red flag for the non-wing rookie Jeff Kirchner who got a little high in turn three backing into the wall and flipping the car over.
Pirtek Heat 1 results: 99-Roach, 7-Hanson, 34 Stordahl, K1-Lear and 77E-Englund (DNF)
Pirtek Heat 2 results: 87-Mueller, 69s-Lewerer, 22-Pellersels, 19b-Berger, 7h-Hanson and 2j-Lowe

The 25 lap Rock Auto would go green to checkers with a great battle up front with Brad Peterson holding off the 78 of Rob Caho Jr for a few laps when Rob would finally take the lead and hold it to the checkers and cruz right into Rock Auto Victory Lane. Harry Hanson also slid by Peterson but could not overtake Caho in traffic.
